What's the best coding LLM?
I know that there's clear differences between different LLMs when it comes to coding- but those are general results. I'm asking in your opinion and experience what the best LLM is.
There are a lot of things to consider when thinking of the best LLM, like sure, Claude codes really well and it's accurate, but are the animations cool? Does it bug out?
What about ChatGPT? Yeah it's amazing and has cool results and possibilities, but do the apps work first try with one prompt?
Let me know!

View all commentsI hear GPT-5-high-thinking on Codex is performing very well but I'm quite happy with Claude Code already. It does make a lot of mistakes and needs a lot of code reviews though. I've tried "vibe coding" an app entirely on its own but while it was functional, it wasn't great - especially once I reviewed the code, the ui/ux etc.
I think coding with LLMs is still at a point where it's more of an assistant - you need someone experienced to guide it along, review the code, etc.
Are you building something right now?
