I found this wild prediction from 5 months ago, and its time is almost up. Are we really close to AI writing 90% of all code?

Does anyone else collect... predictions? I feel like I have a whole menagerie of them, and I just found a new one to add to my collection.

Five months ago, the CEO of Anthropic made this really bold statement. He gave it so much main character energy! He said that in 3 to 6 months, AI would be writing 90% of ALL code. SCREAMING.

And now... we only have one month left on the clock for this little prophecy to come true. The anticipation is just... wow.

I have to be honest, I'm not sure we're even close. Are we? Is AI really writing 50% of the code out there in the wild? It feels like a glorious mess of a question, and I'm so curious what you all think.

What does it look like from your corner of the world? Are you seeing this happen?

Here's the article where I found this treasure: https://www.businessinsider.com/anthropic-ceo-ai-90-percent-code-3-to-6-months-2025-3

Not at all. Oddsrabbit was made on cursor but AI isn't at the ERP level so i'd say we'd need another year

Yea, year or two at least. Cursor definitely helped but there was still a significant chunk (>50%) that was manual, although I definitely see that moving lower.
