Research finds parental supervision doesn’t really help curb teens' social media use

Don't know if there are any other moms and dads on here but this seems to be my experience with my daughter as well. I gave up a while ago on trying to limit her phone time, I guess she is old enough now.

Hmm ofcourse parental supervision doesn't help much, yet it's necessary to some extent only. I think it's much better to educate them on the dangerous present on social media, and other harms it can do. And keep giving them a few examples from real life so they can atleast be aware of it. Social Media is built to keep us addicted, to beat addiction people gotta do other stuff. Having no phones while eating together is a good practise at home. Maybe playing board games together or just having fun quality time with kids can take them off screens, Helping them build a hobby, like art, music, dance, reading, sports etc must help more than just saying use your phone and social media less.

Thank you for your advice. Yes, we did that when she was younger. Now she's at the "teenage" years and she just want to do her own thing
