More people found dead on NYC streets, as temperatures continue to plummet

"Last Sunday, a winter storm affected the area, and temperatures dropped dangerously low, prompting New York City to issue a code blue.

Five people were initially found dead on Saturday, as temperatures dropped.

A 67-year-old man was found dead on Third Avenue, police said. A 64-year-old woman was also found dead near Remsen Avenue, and another man was found dead on Warren, authorities said. Two other people were found later that day, city officials announced.

By Monday, two more New Yorkers were found dead during the cold winter stretch.

Some of the victims had been in homeless shelters in the past, according to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani"

This is really sad. I often think about how homeless people manage to get by when bad weather hits. I guess they don’t sometimes which is upsetting. So much wealth out there just sitting while it could be spent on making the less fortunate’s lives even just slightly more livable.

Yea it's such a shame. At the very minimum, they should be given somewhere indoors and warm
