What are your, no bullshit, rules you have about gaming that you stand by absolutely?
Heya! Just wanted to add something to this community and decided to get a little curious on others opinions. With that said, here is my rules:
1. Never Pre-order ANYTHING. Hype is not a product, and there is zero reason to pay full price for a game that isn’t even finished yet. Let it release, let real gameplay surface, and let other people confirm it actually works before you spend your money.
2. Don't pay to play Early Access. You would essentially be paying to be a goddang Beta-tester. Most of the time you’re paying to troubleshoot bugs, sit through balance changes, and watch features slowly get patched in.
3. It's okay to wait to buy a game. Its not going anywhere and it's okay to wait a week or a month to buy. Games don’t disappear, but launch problems, rushed patches, and buyer’s remorse are very real. Give it a little time and you’ll usually get a better version of the game for less money.
4. If you are not having fun, then you are allowed to bail on a game. The point of gaming is to ultimately have fun. Your time is more valuable than forcing yourself through a game just because you bought it or because everyone else loves it. Gaming is supposed to be entertainment, not an obligation.
5. Visual appeal matters. Games are an art form; don't pay full price for "Meh" or studio's afraid to make things artistic or beautiful. If it comes down to cheap, predictable fan service I've seen a million times (Looking at you needlessly moaning/blushing anime women) or ugly and androgenous characters (Looking at you Dragon Age Veilgaurd.), choose the cheap fan service. At least it had the courage to be something.
6. Never buy a game off of nostalgia. These gaming studio's will resell you a 10 year old game a full price with the only difference being a little more lighting if they could get away with it. You are customer and need to make sure that when you pay for a burger, they didn't just sell you a vegetarian substitute.
But anyway, those are my personal rules when it comes to gaming. Hope you guys enjoyed the little read. Would be interested to hear what anyone thinks or your personal rule. 🙂

This is an amazing list. I'm a sucker for a lot of these honestly... especially early-access haha. I can't help myself, I need to play the game ASAP.
Since I mostly mobile game nowadays, a big one for me is when the dailies starts taking too much time or feels like a chore, I just delete the mobile app and move on, even if the game is fun. Wuthering waves being the best example, I love the game but I had to delete it since the dailies started getting a bit too repetitive and time-consuming.
