How Account Deletion Works

1. Log in and confirm below — deletion starts immediately, with no waiting on us
2. You're logged out at once, your profile and content are hidden, and any active subscriptions are cancelled
3. For 30 days you can change your mind: log back in and we'll offer to reactivate your account
4. After 30 days your data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account, the following information will be permanently removed:

• Account credentials: Username, email address, and password
• Profile information: Avatar, bio, and personal settings
• Personal data: IP addresses, device tokens, and session information
• Private communications: Direct messages and chat history
• Preferences: Notification settings and app preferences
• Financial records: Subscription and payment history

What Data Will Be Retained

To maintain the integrity of community discussions, the following content remains visible but will be marked as posted by "[deleted]":

• Posts and comments: Your public contributions to communities remain visible
• Vote counts: Votes are preserved to maintain content rankings

Retention period: There is a 30-day grace period before permanent deletion. Logging back in during that window cancels the deletion and restores your account.

Subscriptions: Card subscriptions are cancelled for you and come back if you reactivate. Google Play subscriptions are cancelled but cannot be restored — you'd need to buy them again. Apple App Store subscriptions can only be cancelled by you, in your Apple account settings; they keep billing until you do, even after your account is gone.
