Welcome to my blog…
As I typed the title, ‘Welcome to my blog…’, for some reason Alice Cooper’s Welcome to My Nightmare started playing in my head.
Welcome to my nightmare
I think you're gonna like it
I think you're gonna feel you belong
A nocturnal vacation
A necessary sedation
You wanna feel at home 'cause you belong
Welcome to my nightmare, whoa-whoa-oh
Those words mostly fit pretty good me thinks. So don't wait, click the 'Join' button up top.
Like the talk of this whole blogging thing here on Oddsrabbit, while it has had me wondering if it's going to fit, or will it be just another nightmare. I don't mean for that to sound negative, honest. It’s just that, over the years/decades, I’ve used likely a dozen or more blogging platforms — I know, I know... it’s an addiction — and often, they have left me wanting. So this time 'round I've been waiting for some kind of sign that this will be different…and I think I got one.
My all time favourite blogging site, before it was bought and killed by Twitter, was Posterous — a platform that was way ahead of it’s time IMHO…with a young founder who was full of energy, ideas, and completely open and accessible to anyone on the platform. Sound familiar? I had 4 or 5 blogs on the platform, all accessed by my home profile page. Only the blogs weren’t called blogs, they were called “Spaces’. Again, sound familiar?
So when @jingjunma announced, “The new Spaces concept of Oddsrabbit” it sold me straight away, the Heavens had spoken, I had my sign. And I was excited to get started.
And so here's my first Space, and my first Spaces post.
Let me close by leaving you with a few more of Alice’s words…
Welcome to my breakdown
I hope I didn't scare you
That's just the way we are when we come down
We sweat and laugh and scream here
'Cause life is just a dream here
You know inside you feel right at home here
You're welcome to my nightmare, yeah
Peace out,
Bob
