So far I've been using Librewolf, it's nearly a 1:1 replica of Firefox. It has features to resist browser fingerprinting and you'd be replacing Google with other browsers. I initially thought there wouldn't be any other good browsers just as I found Startpage and it's just as great as Google.

First time I’ve hearing of a new browser haha

I just gave the new firefox a try because of this, I really dig the new look (including the oval tabs lol)

Funny I can remember to install Firefox but can't remember the names of any other browsers I have tried.

Been on Firefox for years. Always private, always happy.

I'm a huge fan of Firefox and have used it as my primary driver for years. I'm glad they continue to innovate and drive things forward. I'm sad that every time I've applied to work there I get ignored. Not much call for R coders I guess hahaha.

Great. Every time a software company starts talking like this you know something cool under the hood is about to die. I had the update last night and started seeing tab titles glowing and sparkles flying everywhere. I just turned it off and thought "Fuck it, I'll find out why I'm sad tomorrow."

If they've managed to release this and not alienate those who cling to old interfaces, then cool beans!

Admittedly I'm still on chrome, the titles glowing and sparkles flying everywhere sold me, I'm going to give firefox a try lol.

I heard it had round tabs.......

I think you can continue to disable it through about:config or use the ESR version

Yeah, sounds like the good type of update :)

I mean, it's about user preference. I like the update but if other people don't then they have a choice to disable it. They actually quite nerfed the new UI already so there wouldn't be stark changes upon release. What matters in browser updates are under the food fixes to security and addition of compatibility to new web standards. You can still receive these updates while having the previous interfac through about:config. We'll see later though if the average user really cares about the changes or not. Providing the interface as default for the general public is the only means to know how much of the users love or hate the interface.

It's all cool beans.

  • New built-in themes
  • a new compact mode
  • Amazon is no longer included as a built-in search engine. (Yay!)
  • Tons of fixes.

I didn't see anything that screamed they've killed it. If it brings people in then great. Its a good time to be doing it too.
