Even if they return for a re-re-relaunch, I won’t be going back. They burnt that bridge by just randomly shutting the site down without even an email notice. Lol, oh well.

Were you on the platform? I’m curious what people liked about it (aside from the nostalgia part which I get lol, nostalgia can’t be beat)

I was a groundbreaker on the relaunch and it was… okay. I mean, it wasn’t anything spectacular in terms of social media, and they were very slow in rolling out features, but they eventually did and it was fun. But as soon as we got communities they shuttered the site, lol. So, oops. Guess we’re done with that project.

The worst thing about any of the platforms now is the (AI) Facebook, insta, and Reddit. Tons of people have been booted or banned by AI for no apparent reason. And there’s no appeal to get the accounts back.

I agree. There is none here right now since it's still a small platform, but I do worry a bit about how to detect and moderate the spam of AI content if it ever comes to it.

Just have to take it one day at a time.

It's crazy

Is it a total or a reset?

I’m thinking reset, and it will be completely different. It sounds like they gave up trying to be a Reddit alternative lol

As Digg was the predecessor of Reddit well it never had to try to replace it. However bad decisions let Reddit take over as dominant. One would just have to read the history to get the mistakes that were made. Reddit has also made some big changes and is why we are looking for an acceptable alternative.

True. The full note on https://digg.com/ isn’t too inspiring
