Asexual adults feel lonely even in a relationship

My reaction when asexuals/aromatics are in relationships and here I am a perpetually relationshipless neuro typical 😵💫 just pass the ball if you're not gonna play 😭
Take this with a grain of salt but from what I see on twitter/social media, the recent increase in aro/ace people seems like they're jumping on a trend or something. Therapyspeak is "in". It seems to just be attaching a label to themselves and think the question is solved? I don't doubt asexual people exist but the young people I see who describe themselves as such, typically have other mental or health issues but instead they're putting all their eggs in this therapy basket. To me it looks like just labeling yourself as aro/ace isn't helping anything but they're putting themselves in a box. 🤷
I disagree. I thought for a while that I was asexual because i really don't enjoy sex. It'salways been something i just did to make someone else happy. Then I thought that maybe I was just sex repulsed, because I'm still physically attracted to women, i just don't want to have sex with them. Then after decades of therapy my therapist diagnosed me with schizoid personality disorder, which perfectly explains why I have no desire for sex/relationships as well as pretty much every other aspect of my life.
I get that you see these words as "just labels," but having a label makes it soooooo much easier to understand the things you do and why you do them. I have no intention of changing my behavior, but it's nice to know why I behave this way.
That's fair and perhaps it sounded like I'm coming on strong about the whole thing and I understand there are legit applications for these diagnoses. I was referencing more the stuff I see on social media that in the last year or two I've noticed a big increase in these terms being thrown around. So while I don't doubt your case is legit I feel like many young people are using it as a label/group identity/whatever thing.
I get that. If you go to r/schizoid the vast majority of the people there will tell you they're self diagnosed, so you're definitely not wrong, but I wouldn't completely disregard therapy and labels. Just because some people pretend to be one way doesn't mean that everyone who claims to be that way is pretending.
