Lemon and Whipped Ricotta with Fresh Basil
Neapolitan dessert pizza topped with lemon curd, whipped ricotta and fresh basil. I baked this for dessert last Christmas instead of a heavy Christmas pudding in the middle of summer.

Never had a dessert pizza before!
They're fairly common here but it's usually Nutella. My father in law was a bit hesitant at first and steadfastly refused to try it with the basil but he had 2 slices.
For me the basil really rounded out the flavour.

It was inspired by a Gordon Ramsay recipe but I used my Neapolitan dough recipe, and my wood fired pizza oven.
I love dessert pizza! In the Midwest it is usually a kind of cookie crust with cherry or apple on it, then it has brown sugar crumble on top. 😋
