### Community Rules & Guidelines
1. **Respectful & Civil Discourse** Treat all members with respect. Disagreements are expected and encouraged, but personal attacks, insults, name-calling, or hostility will not be tolerated. Argue against ideas, not people.
2. **Good Faith Participation** Engage honestly. No trolling, sealioning, bad-faith arguments, deliberate misrepresentations, or “gotcha” tactics. Assume good intent unless clearly proven otherwise.
3. **Relevance to Philosophy** All posts and comments must be clearly related to philosophy (ethics, epistemology, metaphysics, logic, existential questions, political philosophy, philosophy of mind, etc.). Low-effort memes, off-topic rants, or purely political soapboxing without philosophical grounding will be removed.
4. **High-Quality Content** Posts should encourage thoughtful discussion. Avoid one-sentence questions, vague titles, or shower thoughts without context or explanation. Provide some background or your own reasoning when posting.
5. **Source Your Claims When Possible** When referencing philosophers, texts, or studies, mention the thinker/work. This helps foster informed discussion. Unsupported sweeping claims may be challenged or removed.
6. **No Spam or Self-Promotion** Do not spam links, videos, blogs, YouTube channels, or Discord servers without prior mod approval. Self-promotion is generally not allowed.
7. **No Hate Speech or Discrimination** Content that promotes hatred based on race, gender, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, or any protected characteristic is strictly prohibited.
8. **Spoiler and NSFW Policy** Use spoiler tags for sensitive topics when needed. Mark NSFW content appropriately. Philosophy of sex/sexuality is allowed if discussed philosophically and respectfully.
9. **Moderation Discretion** Moderators reserve the right to remove content or ban users that violate the spirit of the community, even if not explicitly listed here
