We are all Jane Doe
Anyone else completely in awe of the Jane Doe movement happening across all platforms right now?
Encouraged by the Cornell 7, women and men are coming together in a movement that is honestly giving me chills. We are all Jane Doe. I truly believe nearly every woman has a story that, in some way, is relatable. I know I do. But I also believe it’s not every man. My husband included.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be with a man who pushes me to be better, appreciates and respects me, and genuinely believes I am the strongest woman he has ever met. He’s the kind of man who would stand up for a woman being disrespected, even if he didn’t know the full story. He’s a girls’ girl in male form. 😂 I love him more than I could ever put into words.
And to all the men out there who recognize the amount of shit women have had to put up with, and still do, thank you. Thank you for being here for us, for standing up with us, and for walking alongside us as we work toward a better future for the women who come after us.
You’re the GOATs. 🐐
I’ve always been proud to be a woman. But these days, I feel even more grateful to be one. ❤️

I should have said this a week ago, but thank you, thank you for speaking up as a male. It’s rare we get to see or hear it. I am so sorry you went through what you did.
I wish more men felt comfortable speaking out about it and I hope one day we get to point where men feel supported enough that they can.
I was a little out of the loop so this covers it

I don’t think it’s stupid, it’s real life. I am Jane Doe. It’s basically another #metoo. When one girl says something, it’s easy to bury it, but when a bunch of women stand together, it has an impact, it brings more to light.
Basically another college gang rape scandal is coming to light, and the school is protecting the men who did it. I say men because they are all over 18 at this point. And they are probably on a sports team or something.
When a girl comes out about being raped, a lot of shaming and victim blaming happens. So many times the girl is the one to lose her life when this happens.
A bunch of women are standing in solidarity with the girl who was raped, and some asshole wants to name and shame her. Basically dox her for trying to get justice and making sure these guys take accountability. Some research showed that like 50% of young males don’t believe women when they say they’ve been raped.
So if she is named, she will be harassed.
Unless you’ve been raped, you don’t understand the magnitude of the damage and impact it has on your life. It feels like it’s all your fault, you are to blame, you are the issue, you shouldn’t have smiled at them, you shouldn’t have made them think it was okay (messed up thinking but that’s what society has done for women) and that’s why a lot of girls don’t come out about being raped. It’s a very confusing thing to navigate.
Mine happened when I was young and I’m still not over it. Don’t think I ever will be. Rape needs to be taken seriously, and women need to come together when it happens so that the victim doesn’t feel alone and isolated.

🙌 this is awesome, love how the internet collectively band and stand up for what’s right.
Also your relationship with your husband really sounds like one from the Disney movies which I loveee. So happy for you two 😃
I'm wondering if you ever introduce your husband to others as "a girls' girl in male form" 😂. If so, does he just laugh it off and give you a playful swat on the butt and carry on like it's nothing?
That's cool and the stuff great relationships are built on. It's good to know good people are still out there and manage to meet each other. You two are blessed to have each other.
