Approving who follows you
I was wondering if "Approving Followers" is already a feature in the current build? I looked through setting on the web page and the app. Didn't see it but I could have missed it. If this isn't a feature it might be helpful for people recieving unwanted messages.

It’s planned but not live yet. It’s part of the private profile changes coming in a bit - since profile posts can already be followers only, but there’s nothing to restrict it.
I think some more granular settings for chat and messages would be a good idea. Like mutual followers only etc. The only real concern I have there is that the settings page is already quite overwhelming, and there are still a more options/customizations to add lol.
Thanks. I see what you are saying about "Settings" getting a tad long. Perhaps breaking them up and making more contextual settings (i.e. setting for Messaging being located on the "Message" tab).
I was curious if private profiles were going to be a thing and im glad to hear that theyre in the works
with what op said about the settings i think breaking them up and putting small descriptions if need be on what each setting does and what not couldnt be a bad idea imo

I used to work in an industry where “decision paralysis” is a real problem - people freeze up and are stressed the more options there are. See it a lot in some people when they can’t decide what to eat etc lol. It’s just one of those things thats always in the back of my mind now, but yea, definitely need to add some options for it

Profiles can be private as in the posts and comments aren’t shown publicly when someone visits the profile.
A private profile in this case that we’re talking is a profile whose posts don’t show up in regular feed, purely followers only. So like a private Patreon in a sense.

In all seriousness, it has a few use cases. Like a friends-only feed, for creators who want to maintain a subscription-only social/feed, etc. It doesn’t have to be a paid private profile, just private in general. A few users here already post like that in a few ways - though they don’t show up in the feed so you wouldn’t be across them haha. It’s very fascinating to see people using the platform in different ways.

ig an option around that is to set things up similar to how you have it for customizing the themes on desktop yk?
