Are all coders' file organizations a mess??

Or do my first two professors just happen to have ADHD or something? Lol.

I'm studying secure software development in community college. I finished an intro to Python class and for the summer I'm doing Java.

I'm not the *best* at organizing my digital stuff, but I mostly know how I *should*, and I just often feel too rushed to do it.

Both my classes have been remote live, so in the meetings I've caught glimpses of the instructors' desktops and tabs, and they are SCARY. Saw this instructor's desktop was just entirely filled with random files.

I took an HTML class in high school and the instructor always stressed "location, location, location!" Just seems odd that a career that goes more smoothly when things are well organized would attract people who are terrible at organizing lol.

Not that I can really judge, I'm AuDHD. But the autism side does make me really want structure and organization, and just seeing the mess on my instructors' computers makes me uncomfortable lol

+1 here, I've tried organizing a few times but there are just too many files, things to keep track of etc. lol. I've never been an organizer in general though.

Anything that stays in motion will become a mess eventually.
