I really adored The Five People You Meet in Heaven. It has really left an impact on the way I see things. Perfect gift-giving book too!

Ooooo! Is it a religious or faith based book?

Oh nono, I'm atheist haha. The heaven part is just part of the story telling. It's a philosophical book about human life and connections.

Love it!

I LOVE that book! His "Tuesdays With Morrie" was also excellent.

The Chronicles of Narnia series are some of the few physical books I have.

That and Calvin and Hobbes

Calvin and Hobbes is a good one for the collection

I went through a bit of a minimalist phase not long ago (if that's the right term) and purged myself of things I haven't used within the past year. That included donating a lot of books. A few were spared however, mostly having been received as gifts.

One I couldn't part with is called "Humans of New York". Written by a photographer who wanted to capture the real essence of the people of New York. Each page is a different photo of one of the many colorful people you find on New York's street, along with a short story about them. Really fascinating book.

I’ve actually heard of this book! I should try and see if I can find a copy!

They also have an Instagram! The book is just a reprint of the IG posts I believe. Though having said that, I also have the book haha.

“How to win friends and influence enemies” by Dale Carnegie

I’m a self-help junkie and was extremely socially awkward when I was younger. This was the first book recommended to me when I started working lol.

The book goes through a few things but my main takeaway is just to be kind and genuine. I was always trying to pretend to be someone I’m not just to fit in etc. which made me extra awkward lol. And as a bonus, something I learned along the way as I got older - this also means the people who stick around genuinely like you for being you, not the person you were pretending to be.

I've only just started entertaining the idea of reading some self-help books! I've never in the past because my mom was constantly pushing them on me and I didn't believe they would be any help. Now that I am older and more mature, I can see the appeal!

I used to be BIG into those type of books. Not so much anymore. Although, that said, I recently re-read "How to Win Friends and Influence People"

The first books recommended to me when I first started working were "The Power of Positive Thinking" and "The Greatest Salesman in The World"...both are worth at least one read.

What do you recommend??

One of my favourites that has been on my bookshelf for FOREVER is Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
