I have read the first book. I found his writing style very lyrical. It has the tone of a story tossed by a traveller around a fire in an inn. The emotional upheavals are quite distinct. I have forgotten many plot points, but I do remember the lyrical tone of the book. It stayed with me.
Absolutely on all counts.
