What's something popular that you just dont get?

Tbh…having children. It’s not financially viable for a lot of people. Beyond that, there’s simply no “village” available to help someone raise a child. Everyone is preoccupied with working and by the end of it, they have no physical or mental bandwidth left to dedicate towards childrearing. There are a lot of systemic issues that need to be addressed, but even if we set those factors aside, pregnancy is hard. Childbirth is brutal. Postpartum depression is also a very real thing. Even if we lived in an ideal society, I cannot see myself doing it and I’m of the opinion that too many people have children without considering what it means to actually be a parent in a competent and healthy way. So, yeah. Thats my answer.
