Trying to get into anime
I've watched a few anime during the past few years. I enjoyed most of them. I try to find more of the type I enjoy, but there doesn't seem to be any way narrow down the choices. And I don't know how to explain what anime I like, because I don't know the terminology. All I can say is I can tolerate violence if it's important to the story, but I don't like gratuitous violence. I like comedy, and serious storylines.
I know I've explained it badly, but if you have any advice, I'd like to hear it!

Ok from you're rec I relate I've come to not like violence in Media as well so I'd recommend
Ergo proxy Scfi
Kaguya Sama RomCom
Call of the night
Nausicaa valley of the wind (Movie)
Ranking of kings Fantasy ,action
Haikyuu or Ping pong the animation if you like sport's I'd recommend ping pong the animation first it's shorter
I don't have any advice beyond just checking out stuff that seems interesting to you?🤷 I would recommend to check out Frieren 😇 Definitely the most memorable anime I've watched recently
Full Metal Alchemist is pretty good. Movies are also great if you dont feel like watching a series. The cinematography tends to be better.
Hmm try Spy X Family. A friend recommended it to me and it’s better than I expected (which means really good since I don’t like the genre lol). It’s like a slice of life show.
For a more typical battle some with an amazing storyline, which sounds like you may not like as much but I still highly recommend for the story, To Be Hero X is amazing.
