Wow, OpenAI Sora is closing down already.
I never even got to try it because Sora 2 was limited access, I didn't even know it was publicly available. Wondering if they think they have no chance against chinese models like Seedance, and decided to cut the bleeding.

Rumour is OpenAI is about to go public and AI video generation isn't as profitable as they thought. I suppose they are going to go back to competing with rival AI tech companies like Anthropic or Grok.
Yea makes senses. I heard the seedance videos costed like $20/min or something, which is fine for studios but don’t think I see a market for regular users (who just want to consume, not make videos, especially at that price).
This is disappointing for me, because I was interested in trying out Sora after seeing what Grok was capable of producing.
Yea I’d love to see what you could make with seedance 2.0, but it seems like it’s getting law-suited to death and won’t reach the US market
I’m of two minds on this because I see how AI can be used as a great tool, but a lot of the videos I saw were just weird. I do like the ones that show you what Pokemon looked like if they were real
Yea I agree, I’ve seen some amazing creative videos but at the same time, most have been very low effort. Hoping social doesn’t just turn into ai spam
It seems like everything good eventually gets turned into spam!
