How is satellite internet service working out?

I have only met a few people who traveled by cruise, and when I asked about internet quality and stability, they all said they didn't think it would be worth it, so they didn't try.

Are we at a point when internet is reliable enough to run a business at sea?

I haven't started my Repo Nomad travels as of yet, but I can say that in my initial research on cruise lines I have been focused on the Norwegian line. Primarily because they have solo traveler rooms available, but they do also use Starlink while out at sea. I think in cases where Starlink is being used it may be more suitable for running a business from the seas. However, I would factor in how much bandwidth you think you might use. Having to do video uploads and downloads from the sea might be rough, personally I am aiming to be more focused on being able to communicate. Providing services that can be achieved through email/text should be easy to accomplish.

Wow, is this currently your life style? Repo nomading sounds amazing. Definitely something I'd like to do in the future

Not currently. I don't like to travel, but I like to listen to the languages and try the foods in other countries. I work online from home, with clients who live in other countries.

So I am keeping an eye on the cruise ship companies that are planning "floating cities" of 10,000+ people and selling or long-term-leasing cabins for people to live onboard and run businesses.

I am working on businesses that I can run onboard directly with the people who live there, like running a retail shop or being the bookkeeper & tax preparer for other people running businesses onboard, but online businesses are good back-ups.

I'd like to move onboard in 5-10 years, and live onboard the rest of my life.

This sounds pretty great haha. Have you tried any shorter term cruise trips yet?

Not sure how well it'd work on cruises but I have a few friends that rave about starlink
