I always got a kick out of the verse that said, “I smoke old stogies I have found. Short, but not too big around.”
My father smoked a couple cigars a day (Tueros, they came in an aluminum tube with blue writing and blue cap)... so knowing what an old stogie was like, that line was always amusing to me as well.
Still, I wish I'd thought to keep one of his old cigar boxes. Would have been a nice keepsake...and handy too :)
We learned that in our music class in elementary school. My mom was a huge Roger Miller fan.
I had to do a Roger Miller playlist on Alexa the other day, fr.
One of my Dad’s favourites :)
