I made a tool to show friends how you're actually feeling

Hey everyone,

I realized we don't really talk about our social energy levels with friends, even though it affects everything - whether we're up for hanging out, need some space, or just want someone to check in.

So I built Social Battery to make it visible.

How it works:

  • Share a link with friends
  • They sign up (username + password, no email)
  • You can see each other's social battery levels in real time
  • Quick "coffee?" button when you're both feeling social

It's basically a way to show how you're feeling without having to explain it every time. Sometimes people just need to see it.

Free, mobile-friendly: socialbattery.space

Would love to know if this resonates with anyone or if you'd actually use something like this!

Welcome back and thanks for sharing another project of yours!

I think it'd be really cool if the battery itself can go down after being set - let's say I select 4 hours as my social battery, and I press start or set it to a number, it should start gradually decreasing. Or maybe a button I can press to start when an event starts or I'm in a social setting, and it shows the percentage updating in real time etc.

Thanks for the suggestion! I kept it manual on purpose since social battery drain isn't linear, but a currently socializing countdown mode as an optional feature could be interesting. I'll add it to the roadmap.

Is there a screen shot of this in action?

Sure, try it out and share it with your friends so you can keep track of how each other is feeling.
