So, this saying is usually attributed to Mae West. However, she technically only ever said "A hard man is good to find". The former part, "A good man is hard to find" was from a vaudeville song from the early 1900s.

A good man is hard to find but a hard man is good to find.

Definitely wasn't trying to learn you specifically. I just knew I recognized the basics of the saying immediately and knew it was commonly attributed to my girl Mae (I adore). So that sent me down a rabbit hole that I thought I would share with anyone interested, because I'm a nerd like that 😛
