Which new OddsRabbit (light) icon do you like the most?
Thanks to @DNYLND for suggesting a light icon for those on light/adaptive mode.
The current dark icon will continue to be the default for those of you on dark mode on your phones so no worries.

The first icon is rolling out in the update in a day or two so we'll see how it goes regardless. But super open to changing it etc. So far I like how it stands out a bit more on my phone.
Can you talk about the inspiration behind the creation of the icon? I low key kind of don’t like it at all, it seems a bit too ambiguous to me.
Full disclaimer: I'm not a designer at all but here's my thinking:
I was playing around with the white background but it felt a bit plain on the device after testing. I also wanted to incorporate a bit more brand color - like how Instagram brings to mind the pink hue, Facebook with the blue, etc.
As for the element behind the logo, it's a paint splotch. A bit of a throwback to all the creators on the platform.
I think the difference might be that I see it as a background element (like a shadow, or a backdrop etc.), while you're seeing it as a core part of the logo.
It's actually an element/design that I think can change every so often. Like changing it into a halloween theme for halloween etc. Adds a bit of fun, but also gives the background that extra bit of oomph I'm looking for. Can also be solved with a different background than the plain gradient I have right now, but I haven't played around with it enough yet.
All in all, none of this is finalized and will likely keep changing for a while lol.

I kinda like it LOL, but I see your point as well. Let me ask my designer friend about it, her bf also used to work for the big R so might be interesting to see what they have to say about it

I am going to have to agree, I like it too. Almost looks like the bunny is tearing out of the icon haha.
3 - adding more detail confuses the design, I like the simple rabbit. it's easily recognizable and it's cute

I'm probably going to play around with it over the next few app versions to see what feels right, as I'm the type that needs to see it live in-person to get a feel for it. Not a great visualizer lol.
I’m always on light mode and I like it as it is, on a black background. I think the black background ties it in nicely with the black lettering of the
OddsRabbit name.
Honestly I’ll take it over the current one in TestFlight.

Thanks @TheDogfather ! This is only going to be for the app icon. The one on the site will continue to be just the logo by itself. I might bring over the background color changes but adapted to theme like it is currently
Honestly, I’d say bring that middle dot down just a bit to better give the idea that this is a picture of a rabbit 🐰

Most of the time i like simple design i can find on my phone even when tired or drunk. want to know what works best? try to find your app in the middle of your sleep cycle.
I unfortunately still don’t understand the splatter of paint behind the main logo. I actually enjoyed it before, albeit with a dark app icon version to follow system theme.

Yea lol, gonna share the thought she gave me today. I'm not sure what to make of it yet though - partially because she suggested a few changes and I need to play around with those to get a feel
