Reddit is super aggressive now. Like you ask a simple question and you get attacked. It’s like you’re supposed to materialize knowledge from the ether. It’s also hella racist. Everyone there wants to be oppressed so badly that they attack everyone else. It’s TikTok with words

Still very glad I've never gone on TikTok lol.

Yeah I've found that it's *less* common to be attacked for asking questions in the autism communities at least. But it is still possible to get dogpiled.

I left Facebook years ago for reddit. I got a lot happier lol. But now it's bad too and that's why I'm here. 😁

TikTok in other countries is not bad. I still miss my douyin acct. but in America, social media has just become long range manipulation and marketing, imo. People spread misinformation and do insane think pieces with zero education nor knowledge on the subject. It gives people false confidence that they know everything and normalizes the worst, most illiterate behavior. I miss when TikTok in the US was fun and just being funny. People forgot how to have fun. It’s carried over to Reddit where people are just jerks

Yeah, Facebook is actually frightening when I pop on there to check on friends once in a while. And I can't tell how many comments are bots, how many are trolls, and how many are just insanely ignorant or stupid people.

Example: Saw a post shared by one of those groups that just share tabloid shit. It was talking about some porn star who supposedly slept with something like 500 men in one night. Only like two of the comments were pointing out that the laws of mathematics and physics make it obvious that never happened.

All the others were actually saying how gross that is, she's disgusting, this is why America needs God, etc.

So did someone post that and then have bots say all those things, as part of the Christian nationalist agenda? Or are people SERIOUSLY that stupid?? Either answer explains a lot about our current state though.. *sigh*

It could be all three. Celeb blind items are rooted in misogyny and racism. When I saw in the Epstein files that he was working with 4 chan, I was like ohhhh. It feels like there’s been such a decline in literacy and common sense.

Oddsrabbit is so much more chill

And there’s a lot less censorship

Let’s hope so. I got a seven day site-wide ban yesterday for simply telling a mod to “fuck off.” Two words, I didn’t like how he was addressing other people in a thread. Reddit says it was “harassment”. I’m done.

I recently got a ban from a sub and then they wouldn’t let me Appeal to because they muted me from mod chat

Idk how we discourage power-tripping mods, but man I hope we can at least minimize that shit.

A couple weeks ago a guy posted in the chronic pain forum, *apologizing* to every chronic pain sufferer for being an addict, thinking that people like him are what makes it so hard to get prescribed pain meds.

Most people were responding with kindness, saying addiction is a disease too and they don't blame addicts.

But one of the sub mods wrote this nasty comment that apologies aren't enough and everyone who has taken pain meds they didn't need (presumably unless they got addicted from correctly prescribed meds) should have to experience the suffering that pain patients go through. And not for like, 5 minutes. Iirc they implied that it would be for the rest of their life to be "fair".

A bunch of us responded to the mod saying that's really unreasonable and vindictive and we need better care for pain AND for addiction. They didn't walk back their comment. So there it was, all nice and visible with the mod colors, which in a way implies that this person speaks for chronic pain patients.

It was just gross.

Holy fuck. Dude I had a mod of a wrestling sub actively try to get me banned because people in the wrestling subs decided to send me rape threats for being a fan of Roman Reigns. They’ve had a hate boner for this one guy (a dude who spends his free time spending time with cancer patients for real and actually helps new wrestlers) because he’s attractive and not white. They sent a fruit basket to the guy running WWE now and can’t understand why they can’t get what they want on the shows.

Yeah, meanwhile one guy followed me from a post he deemed political (it was a local alert for public health, increased risk of measles due to certain people who planned to meet at a beer garden) to r/PlusSize to tell me that some symptoms I was describing are common in vaccinated people. 🙄 Reported him for harassment but kinda doubt they did anything.

Damn, what was the mod saying to others?
