Byron Buxton (American League) and Alec Burleson (National League) have won player of the week awards
This is the 3rd time that Byron Buxton (Minnesota Twins) has won the player of the week award. In seven games last week, Buxton went 10-for-29 (.345) with a double, five homers, two steals, six runs scored and 7 RBI’s. He went deep in five of the seven games, including three straight for the sixth time in his career.
Alec Burleson (St. Louis Cardinals) has won the player of the week award for the 1st time in his career. He went 11-for-27 (.407) with three doubles, two homers, eight runs scored and 11 RBIs. The Cardinals won 6 of 7 games this week.
