Carlos Cortes (American League) and Ildemaro Vargas (National League) win MLB player of the week honors

Carlos Cortes, outfielder for the Oakland Athletics (I refuse to call them by any other name) went 13-for-24 (.542) with two doubles, a triple, three homers and seven RBIs. This is his first time winning the award.

Ildemaro Vargas, Utility player for the Arizona Diamonds went 8-for-22 (.364) with a double, a triple, four home runs, twelve RBIs and seven runs scored. This is also his first time winning the award.
