The New York Mets lose their 10th consecutive game. Their longest losing streak in 22 seasons
There are many reasons the Mets have found themselves unable to win a baseball game as of late. This stretch of games has been full of bad defense, bad situationally hitting, and bad injury luck.
Out of the 10 games the Mets have been shut out 3 times, lost by a margin of 1 run 2 times, given up 7 or more runs 5 times, and blown a lead in 4 of the games.
Their pitching has been good enough to have won at a minimum 4 out of these 10 games. Offensively it seems there is a disconnect between the players as a team. Certain players have been going up to bat with practically no plate discipline. A walk is just as good as a hit when you are struggling to score runs, and the goal should be to keep the line moving. But certain players have been going up to the plate ready to swing for the fences instead of playing station to station.
My belief is that they win tomorrow and break their losing streak. But unfortunately they have to keep a red hot Cubs offense in check in order to do so.
