ABS (Automated Ball-Strike System)

For years and years the majority of fans asked for a system like this to be implemented due to the number of incorrect calls that could/would change the momentum of close games. This was especially true during playoff games when teams were trying to come back from a deficit or hold on to their lead.

Another reason was the outrageous number of times when certain umpires would push a narrative that the fans came to the stadium to watch them as well. They would take over the game with their pettiness since they got offended that a player or coach called them out.

Now teams have the ability to challenge balls and strikes and prevent the umpires from ending at-bats, innings, and games with bad calls. In the first 20 games of season we are starting to find out which players are the most accurate when challenging, and the strategies that are being explored since teams have only 2 challenges a game (which are retained if the original call is overturned).

This is great for the sport since calling balls and strikes on pitches traveling 100 miles per hour, or moving 16 inches horizontally is not something the human eye can do accurately with 100% consistency. We have also seen which umpires are the best of the bunch, and deserve to be praised for doing their jobs well.
