The first Dodgers vs Giants game of the season!
After the last Dodgers vs Giants game played in the 2025 regular season, this series dating back to their first meeting in 1890 is currently tied at 1,288 wins a piece, and 17 tie games due to weather, darkness, or curfew.
This rivalry is full of legends playing for each team, and unexpected players who seemed to play better than expected against one another. In my eyes (a Giants fan), it does not matter how poorly a player has been playing during the season if they play well against the Dodgers. I’m sure many Dodgers fans share that same sentiment with their players towards the Giants.
The Dodgers come in as the 2 time defending World Series Champion, and have begun their quest for a 3 peat playing great baseball. The Giants come in hopeful to prove they are a team who will be contending for a postseason birth, but have gotten off to a poor start, and have some of the worst hitters in all of baseball at the moment.
I am hoping for a competitive series but that will be entirely dependent on which Giants team shows up. My prediction is that the Dodgers will win 2 of the 3 games and continue their very strong opening month to the season.

"this series dating back to their first meeting in 1890 is currently tied at 1,288 wins a piece" This is a crazy stat lol
I might have to watch this (and root for the dodgers just because of Ohtani)
How are baseball fans viewing Ohtani right now? Is he sort of the 'Lebron James' of mlb, or something else?
Ohtani is the best baseball player the world has ever seen. I said this when he first got to MLB and immediately started dominating. This guy can literally do everything on the baseball field. He hits 450 foot home runs and throws 100 mph cheddar. I don’t believe there is even a slight discussion about another player being better or just as good as Ohtani is, and I believe the majority of baseball fans feel the same way. I would say a good sports comparison for Ohtani is how Wayne Gretzky dominated the NHL with no other player being on his level.
Oh that's cool. Cause in NBA, it's always debated endlessly and even the current best player (Shai imo) gets shitted on endlessly. Sounds like he won the respect of even other fanbases through his skills
SGA gets hate because he figured out how to get the referee’s to call bogus fouls, but the hate should be directed towards the way the game is officiated and not towards him. Harden was kinda the innovator of initiating contact while not necessarily making a basketball play. It certainly doesn’t help that other players get hacked both on and off ball and never get the same calls he does. SGA’s skills are undeniable though
