Sword Of the Occult (Math)

Ever wondered at what point Sword of the Occultactually becomes a better investment than just buying a straight B. F. Sword? Here is the math broken down by gold efficiency.

1. The Baseline: B. F. SwordCost: 1,550 goldStats: +45 ADValue Ratio: 1,550 gold ÷ 45 AD = 34.44 gold per 1 AD

2. The Target for Sword of the OccultCost: 1,200 goldTo match B. F. Sword's efficiency (34.44 gold/AD), SotO needs to deliver:1,200 gold ÷ 34.44 gold/AD ≈ 34.84 ADSince AD comes in flat numbers, Sword of the Occult needs 35 AD total to equal or pass B. F. Sword's efficiency.

3. How Many Stacks Do You Need?Base Stats: +10 ADPassive: +5 AD per stackAD Needed from Stacks: 35 AD − 10 AD = 25 ADStacks Needed: 25 AD ÷ 5 AD per stack = 5 Stacks

The Verdict 4 Stacks (30 AD total): Efficiency = 40.00 gold/AD (Underperforming B. F. Sword)5 Stacks (35 AD total): Efficiency = 34.29 gold/AD(Slightly beats B. F. Sword's 34.44)6+ Stacks (40+ AD total): Efficiency = 30.00 gold/AD or better (Strictly and significantly better)

TL;DR: As soon as you hit 5 stacks (e.g., 3 kills, or 2 kills + 1 assist), Sword of the Occult becomes more cost-effective than buying a B. F. Sword. At 6 stacks and beyond, it heavily blows it out of the water.

All of this obviously avoiding the fact that it doesn’t build into anything, but IF you happen to build it, don’t sell it just because you can’t get above 5 stacks.

Your gold entry was 1200 gold, if you are maintaining even a small amount of stacks it’s still more efficient than wasting 400 gold on the resale. Even if your team is flaming you.
