Let The Spirit's Light Shine Part One

God’s Morning Word — Sept. 12, 2026

See> (Psalm 100:3-5 KJV) — “Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”

Joyce Mullen was a thirty-year-old traveling evangelist who loved the Lord and had spent much of her life worshipping and serving Him.

One Thanksgiving, Joyce was especially thankful. She wanted to declare her love for Jesus to her family, friends, and even a few strangers. She thanked God for being patient, understanding, and merciful toward His children.

See> (Psalm 136:1 KJV) — “O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.”

Joyce had often tried to tell her brother Mark and her sister Sabrina about God’s love. But whenever she did, they would say negative things about God and blame Him for much of the bad they saw in the world.

Joyce could not understand why they did not see God as she did—the Creator of everything around them. Their father was an evangelist who had taught his children about Jesus with love and understanding. Yet Mark and Sabrina had never had the relationship with Jesus that Joyce had.

Joyce had spent years trying to let them see Jesus through the way she lived.

Rev’s Note

Brothers and sisters in faith, sometimes the best way we can show others Jesus is through the way we live. Let the Holy Spirit’s light shine through us, even when others may not understand.

Morning Prayer

Father God in Heaven, help us let Your Spirit’s light shine through the way we live, so others may see Jesus in us. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
