The Chinese Luxury Car Brands Taking OVER Europe and Australia

Chinese luxury brands like BYD, NIO, Zeekr, Xpeng and Hongqi are rapidly expanding across Europe and Australia with high-tech EVs, luxury interiors and lower prices than traditional German rivals. Their fast growth is putting pressure on brands like BMW, Mercedes and Audi as more buyers switch to Chinese alternatives packed with advanced features and longer range.

There are a lot of brands - a lot of brands you probably
haven't heard of.

And this means that legacy automakers are going to face a
massive battle in their home markets in many instances.

I know some of these brands you will have heard of but some
of you won't have heard of and probably many of you are going to be in
countries where these cars will be sold and you'll be thinking, what is this?

There is so much going on in this space. There are so many
car manufacturers entering Europe and other markets like Australia. Pretty much
all the car brands in this list are either entering these markets or about to.
And the question is, will you buy a Chinese vehicle in future? The answer is
probably yes, because on price and on specification, range, features, they are
just better. In America, probably not! Why? Because the geniuses in America
banned these cars, for now.

So, which one should you buy?

Europe's car market is kind of equal or second in the world
to the US Canada car market. Pretty similar in size, but it's not blocked off
the way that the U.S. car market is. Now Canada is a bit different; a lot of these car
makers are going to enter Canada. These car brands are either in Europe or about
to hit Europe.

My wife and I were in China for just under a month early this year, and we rode in most of the major Chinese car brands at some time during the trip.

Every single one of them impressed me.
The room, how they drove/handled, and the prices were unbelievable by US standards.

You can get electronic cars that are better than anything on the American streets for prices around $10k USD.

US car company CEOs have outright said that they can’t compete. So they’ve pressured/lobbied the govt to ban Chinese cars under a variety of pretenses.

I’ll keep running my old Honda for as long as I can. Nothing on the US market is even enticing, especially at the current outrageous prices.

I forgot if we’ve chatted about this but I did the same last year, as my dad is a car fanatic lol. We went to quite a few showrooms, and their 20k cars matching the quality of a car around 60-70k here in the US is insane.

I also like that they trying to innovate, even if some of it sounds crazy - like the one that can drive in a flood/river, the table that sprouts up from the middle of the car, front seats being able to turn around etc.

Yeah, the reality that I’ve been coming to terms with is that most major Chinese companies are actively making products that aim to improve life/society while most major American companies are out for profits over people.

That isn’t intended to be a political or ethical position. It’s just from observing the actions of these business and the companies I’ve worked with over the years.

Funny how US automakers are just buying their way out of having to compete or develop, I'd understand if they asked the gov for some time where they can develop, but outright ban is just insane.

Yeah.
Can you imagine the surprise they will have when they find out that the “buying your way out” trick won’t work for much longer in a world that is progressing whether we go with it or not.

Good, legacy automakers were getting lazy and were behind.

That's not the full story. In Europe atleast, a large role in automotive industry's downfall are all the ecological restrictions, "clean" energy, co2 limitations, it goes on and on. China doesn't have to abide by those of course, so how are we gonna compete.

Oh yeah, forgot about the EU pushing restrictions as well.
