The Common Grackle - Bird of the Week!

Thought I'd try out a "bird of the week". I get it started and if you have a pic of the same bird you would like to post in the comments below- go for it!

This week it's the common grackle! If he looks familiar - it's because he's the avitar for this community :) This mostly black bird is all over North America, has a cool luminescent blue/purple head and neck and wild yellow eyes. Despite it's looks, it's not part of the corvid (crows) family but is in with the Ictirids (orioles, meadowlarks, etc).
